On February the 20th, the observation deck of the Olsztyn-Mazury Airport, turned a meeting venue for a disscusion on aspects of securing the airport surroundings, monitoring and mitigating the risk caused by human activity in its vicinity. The discussion addressed following security threats:
unauthorized flights of unmanned aerial vehicles (drones, lanterns),
formation of air obstacles,
the emergence of potential feeding grounds for animals (landfills, water reservoirs),
activity of the wild animals.
The meeting, which was hosted by the employees of the Airport, was attended by representatives of the Polish Air Navigation Services Agency, Border Guard, Police, State Fire Service, Internal Security Agency, Municipal Guard Szczytno, Forest District of Wielbark and Szczytno. During the meeting Border Guard representatives also presented the unmanned aircraft used in the daily work of this service.
