At the end of March this year, Olsztyn-Mazury Airport switched to a summer flight schedule, which saw the debut of the long-awaited Ryanair connection to the German airport Düsseldorf-Weeze. This is a new option for residents of Warmia and Mazury, enabling quick and comfortable travel to western Germany and the Netherlands.
The inaugural flight took place on Sunday morning, March 30, 2025. The first passengers who used the new route were welcomed with a regional treat and airport gifts.
The connection will be operated twice a week – on Thursdays and Sundays, and in April also on Fridays. The flight time is just 1 hour and 40 minutes, making this route a quick and convenient way to travel. Ticket prices start from PLN 69 – bookings can be made on the carrier’s website: www.ryanair.com.
Düsseldorf-Weeze – a prime location in Western Europe
Düsseldorf-Weeze Airport (IATA code: NRN) is located in the western part of Germany, in North Rhine-Westphalia, just 5 km from the border with the Netherlands. Due to its strategic location, Düsseldorf-Weeze is an excellent starting point for business and leisure trips. Within a 90-minute drive are cities such as Düsseldorf, Dortmund, Cologne, Duisburg, Essen, Bonn, Eindhoven, Nijmegen, Arnhem and Tilburg. Due to its convenient location, the airport is a popular choice for travelers from all over the region.
“The new Ryanair route is an important step in the development of the communication infrastructure of our region. Thanks to it, passengers will have easier access to many cities in Western Europe. I am convinced that the connection with Düsseldorf-Weeze will become a popular choice among tourists, as well as people travelling for private and business purposes. This is a real convenience for the business developing around the airport, which gains better access to foreign markets and partners, which translates into an increase in the investment attractiveness of the entire region,” says Wiktor Wójcik, President of the Management Board of Warmia and Mazury Sp. z o.o. “The last few months have been a big challenge for small regional airports, such as Olsztyn-Mazury Airport – facing, among other things, problems with the availability of the fleet of air carriers, and consequently cuts in the network of smaller airports. Despite this, we are consistently working on its development, responding to the needs of the region’s residents and strengthening the position of the airport as an important link in the transport system of Warmia and Mazury,” adds Wójcik.
The summer flight schedule of Olsztyn-Mazury Airport also includes connections to Krakow and London, as well as holiday charters to Egypt and Turkey.
