On Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at the passenger terminal of the Olsztyn-Mazury Airport in Szymany, a ceremony was held to sign a cooperation agreement between Warmia and Mazury Sp. z o.o., the operator of the Warmia-Mazury airport, and AMS POLAND Sp. z o.o. – a company from the Poente Technical group, specializing in providing advanced technical services for the aviation sector.
The agreement paves the way for the implementation of the project called Flight Eco Center, which involves the construction of modern hangars for comprehensive aircraft maintenance. The project is a response to global challenges related to sustainable development in aviation and the growing demand for specialized maintenance services. AMS POLAND Sp. z o.o. will assume the role of the operator of the future recycling center. This is a strategic project – important from the point of view of the socio-economic development of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, making a key contribution to the implementation of the objectives of the socio-economic development strategy of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship 2030 on the one hand and the regional program for 2021-2027 European Funds for Warmia and Mazury on the other. Wiktor Wójcik, CEO of the Airport Management Board, emphasized the importance of the project for the future of the port and the region: – Building a modern recycling center is a key element of our development strategy. Cooperation with an experienced partner is the first, very important step on the way to creating a place in Szymany where aircraft can be comprehensively serviced and dismantled in an environmentally friendly manner. Ahead of us is the stage of obtaining EU funds for the construction of hangars – an investment that will create new high-paid jobs and strengthen the position of the airport in the economy of the region. Nikola Vuković, CEO of the Management Board of AMS POLAND assured of the company’s full commitment to the implementation of the project:
– Starting operations at the Olsztyn-Mazury Airport is a strategic step for us in the development of AMS POLAND and the entire Poente Technical group. The construction of a modern hangar for aircraft recycling will allow us to provide comprehensive services related to the dismantling, disposal and recovery of aircraft components in accordance with the highest industry and environmental standards. We decided to locate in Szymany for a reason – the airport offers excellent infrastructure conditions, and the Warmia and Mazury region offers great development potential. We believe that our presence will contribute to the creation of new jobs and the stimulation of economic activity in the region. Flight Eco Center has the opportunity to become the first center of its kind in north-eastern Poland, strengthening the role of the Olsztyn-Mazury Airport as an innovative and strategic point on the map of domestic aviation.
