Olsztyn-Mazury Airport is ready to welcome back passengers whilst ensuring the highest safety standards during air travel. In accordance with the guidelines of the Civil Aviation Authority, the Ministry of Health and the Chief Sanitary Inspectorate as well as international organisations dealing with health and safety in air transport, Masurian-Lakes Airport has implemented new procedures aimed at minimising the transmission of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, while maintaining the highest possible level of passenger comfort.

Implementation of safety rules on airport premises

From entering the airport premises to boarding the plane, all passengers are obliged to follow necessary safety rules concerning preventive measures to minimise the risk of coronavirus transmission. These include – wearing a face mask, keeping the safe distance of 1,5 meters between yourself and other people, washing and sanitising hands frequently and thoroughly, avoiding touching your eyes, mouth and nose, covering mouth and nose with your bent elbow or tissue when coughing and sneezing even when wearing a mask, reducing touching surfaces at the airport and onboard the aircraft as much as possible.

In order to help passengers comply with current airport health and safety requirements, throughout the terminal there are displayed graphic materials such as information posters and appropriate markings, dedicated voice announcements will also be emitted. Hand sanitizers are available throughout the airport, passengers can also buy face masks in vending machines before entering the terminal and/or at the Airport Information Point.

Restrictions on access to the passenger terminal

The passenger terminal is open 3 hours before scheduled departure and remain open for 2 hours after arrival. Access to the terminal is divided into entry and exit zones. People entering the terminal are advised to use the entrance “Odloty/Departure”, people leaving the terminal are directed to the exit “Przyloty/Arrivals”.

Installation of protective screens at check-in, security and passport control points

In the interest of passengers and airport personnel safety during check-in, security and passport control procedures, special protective screens have been installed.

Equipping airport employees with the necessary personal protection supplies

During check-in, all airport employees use personal protection equipment such as such as face masks, visors, disposable gloves and disinfectants.

Regular cleaning and disinfection measures throughout the passenger terminal

The passenger terminal is regularly cleaned and disinfected. These measures have been intensified in areas such as toilets, passenger/security checkpoints and waiting areas. There are also special yellow containers available at the terminal for disposal of used PPE.
