On Friday, March 28, a cooperation agreement was signed at the Marshal's Office of the Warmia-Masuria Province in Olsztyn between the Warmia and Mazury company, operator of the Olsztyn-Mazury Airport, and OPEGIEKA. The subject of the cooperation is the lease of an aircraft hangar located at the Szymany airport.

The agreement was represented by Florian Romanowski – President of the Management Board of OPEGIEKA, Bartosz Majkowski – Director of Aviation, and Wiktor Wójcik – President of the Management Board of Warmia and Mazury Sp. z o.o.

OPEGIEKA is an innovative research and development center based in Elbląg, specializing in geodesy, cartography, photogrammetry, and remote sensing. Since 2011, the company has been actively developing its aviation and photogrammetry operations in Poland and across Europe, delivering comprehensive spatial data solutions. By leveraging cutting-edge technologies, OPEGIEKA supports public administration and enterprises in making strategic decisions related to infrastructure, asset management, and environmental monitoring.

Olsztyn-Mazury Airport, in operation since 2016, has been steadily strengthening its position as a modern regional transportation hub. Since 2021, the airport has featured new aviation hangars, which are increasingly attracting interest from companies in the aviation and technology sectors. OPEGIEKA’s decision to lease one of these hangars confirms the growing importance of the airport as an operational base in northeastern Poland.

Thanks to the new agreement, OPEGIEKA will now have the capability to station its entire fleet in one location and to carry out a greater number of specialized flight missions using advanced technologies. This is another example of synergy between the innovation sector and the expanding regional infrastructure.

“An airport is not only about passenger flights – said Marshal of the Voivodeship Marcin Kuchciński
“Our Olsztyn-Mazury Airport is multifaceted. It’s also an investment zone, a hub for cargo operations, military cooperation, and—with growing involvement from the business sector—an increasingly important center for aviation-related activities. The airport is constantly diversifying its operations, focusing on innovation and the development of high technologies. The agreement signed in Olsztyn with a company from our region is a great example of that.”

“Establishing cooperation with OPEGIEKA is a significant milestone for Olsztyn-Mazury Airport – emphasized Wiktor Wójcik, CEO of Warmia and Mazury Sp. z o.o.
“We’re pleased that such a reputable company has chosen our airport as the base for its aircraft fleet. The lease of the hangar and the aviation operations conducted from our facility confirm both the advantageous location and the high standard of our infrastructure. We believe this collaboration will benefit both parties and contribute to the further development of the airport.”

“Our cooperation with the airport in Szymany significantly increases our operational capacity in the region and across all of northeastern Poland,” concluded Florian Romanowski, CEO of OPEGIEKA.
“Its strategic location allows us to carry out photogrammetric projects more efficiently, reducing response times and increasing the availability of our services.”
