Olsztyn-Mazury Airport is prepared for flight resumption and passenger service.

In accordance with the guidelines of the Civil Aviation Office, the Chief Sanitary Inspectorate and international organisations dealing with health and safety in air transport, new procedures have been introduced at Szymany airport in order to minimise the spread of SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, while maintaining the highest possible comfort for passengers.

The measures introduced at the airport include :

Introducing an obligation to comply with health and safety requirements at the airport.

Throughout the whole process, from entering Olsztyn-Mazury Airport to boarding the aircraft, passengers will be required to comply with a number of safety procedures to minimise the risk of coronavirus infection.

These include :

* wearing a face mask at the airport.

* keeping a safe distance of 1.5 meters between yourself and other people.

*frequent and thorough hand washing and sanitation.

*avoiding touching your eyes, mouth and nose.

* covering mouth and nose with your bent elbow or tissue when coughing and sneezing, even when wearing a mask.

* reducing touching surfaces at the airport and onboard the aircraft as much as possible.

In order to help passengers comply with current airport health requirements, throughout the terminal we have displayed graphic materials such as information posters and appropriate markings, dedicated voice announcements will also be emitted.

All passenger will have access to hand sanitizer stations and will be able to buy face masks in vending machines before entering the terminal and/or at the Airport Information Point.

Restrictions on access to the passenger terminal

The passenger terminal will be open 3 hours before scheduled departure and will remain open for 2 hours after arrival.

Access to the terminal has been divided into entry and exit zones. People entering the terminal will have to use the entrance “Departure/Departure”, people leaving the terminal will be directed to the exit “Arrivals/Arrivals”. Every person entering the terminal will be subjected to a mandatory body temperature measurement check.

 Introducing mandatory body temperature measurements 

All people entering the passenger terminal will be obliged to have their body temperature checked. The measurement is carried out by passing through a thermal imaging gate, which scans the temperature of the forehead or wrist. If the measurement indicates a temperature equal to or higher than 38 degrees Celsius, the airport services will take additional body temperature measurements at 10 minute intervals.

Designation of new passenger paths

The respective passenger terminal zones have been arranged to ensure required separation with a safe distance of 1.5 m between travellers. Passengers will be able to use separate queues to:

– check-in desks

– security checks

-Airport Information Desk

Installation of protective screens at check-in, security and passport control points

In the interest of passengers and airport personnel safety during check-in, security and passport control procedures, we have installed special protective screens.

Equipping airport employees with the necessary personal protection supplies

During check-in, all airport employees will be using personal protection equipment such as such as masks, visors, disposable gloves and disinfectants.

Regular cleaning and disinfection measures throughout the passenger terminal

The passenger terminal is regularly cleaned and disinfected, with increased activity when cleaning toilets, check-in, security points and waiting areas.

The decision of air carriers to resume passenger flights depends on the current epidemiological situation in the country and abroad and/or any existing legal restrictions.

Will the terminal be open 24 hours a day?

No. The passenger terminal will be open 3 hours before scheduled departure and will remain open for 2 hours after arrival.

How much time before my flight should I arrive at the airport?

Due to the implementation of new safety measures, we recommend to arrive at the airport no later than 3hrs before scheduled departure. We also advise you to follow  the carrier’s guidelines.

What rules will I have to follow to prevent the spread of coronavirus while at the airport ?

Denied entry to the terminal and denied boarding can happen when :

*you do not comply with the current health and safety measures

*your body temperature measurement is equal or higher than 38 degrees Celsiu
